Oil-Injected Screw Compressor was originally developed for light duty services, such as Refrigeration and Air.  In these traditional services, Oil-Injected Screw Compressor has been already well-known and established a good reputation due to high reliability and less maintenance.

“Lube Oil” Injected to Screw Compressor acts as (1) Lubricant, (2) Coolant and (3) Sealant.

Thanks to these three functions of Lube Oil, a lot of advantages are created, so that Oil-Injected Screw Compressor has been developing various applications in refinery, petrochemical, gas separation and natural gas boosting fields, by replacing Reciprocating and Centrifugal Compressors.

Now, Oil-Injected Screw Compressor is usually used for Hydrogen service in many applications, mainly because of its higher reliability than Reciprocating and easier compression of low molecular weight gas than Centrifugal.

Although Reciprocating Compressor is still used for very high pressure service of Hydrogen, Oil-Injected Screw Compressor is getting more popular in the Hydrogen service below 100 barG (1500 psig) all over the world.
